In Adventurers 4 we are exploring 2 chapter books. Our free reader is 'Dave- the racer pigeon' by Swapna Haddow. This story is all about Dave Pigeon and his best friend Skipper, and their attempt to make Dave a racer pigeon, to take on Opprobrious Vastinavius the parrot.

Our shared reader book is 'Boot- small robot, big adventure' by Shane Hegarty, which is a heart-warming, humorous adventure about a young robot trying to find its way home.

Dear Parents,

At KS2,  The minimum expectation for children is 15 minutes of reading daily.

This may include:

  • A fiction or non-fiction book.
  • A recipe.
  • A bus timetable.
  • Subtitles on the television.
There are many different opportunities for children to read. However please ensure that your child is reading for the expected amount if time, to aid their learning. Today they came home with two books which they must bring to and from school daily.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation,

Miss. Couchman
