On Friday 10th May, Class 2 will be recreating a design of a brand new computer. We will need recycling materials that can be used to build our computer models. For example cardboard boxes, egg boxes, bottle tops etc.
The children can bring them in throughout next week to store in class
Thanks you in advance for your support on this.
Miss Whitwell
We have been reading Meerkat Mail this week and writing our own post cards about our holidays. We are really enjoying finding out facts about meerkats ready to write a fact file next week.
Did you know the reason they stand on their back legs to show their tummies is so they can warm up quickly in the sun?
We also found out that they live up to 14 years in captivity and love to eat scorpions! Yuck!
We will be learning about the habitats and the animals that live in them. We will link this to science when we learn about food chains and life cycles of different animals too. We will also listen to African music and create our own dance movements along side.
Not only will the focus be on Africa, but we will be learning about the world continents in comparison to where the UK is and all about the 5 different oceans too.
Later this term we will touch on India as well and this will link to our RE and Art when we create Mandala patterns of our own.
So keep your eyes on our page to see what we will have been up to this term!
During Safer Internet Day (5th February) Class 2 looked at all of the programs and apps they use on their devices. We talked about age restrictions and asking permission to play on these games.
We then looked at a story about a penguin who had problems when using the internet. We gave him advice on what to do in each situation - Talk To An Adult!
We also took a quiz about the internet and how it should be used. We worked hard to create pieces of work for display on this so others understand why asking permission and using the internet correctly is so important.
