World Book Day

Our potatoes are waiting to be made into book week characters in our classroom.

 

As today is World Book Day, you could build a book character in the snow.

Email your pictures to admin@northcrescent.org or bring them in and I will put them on our class page.

2-2-18 Writer On The Right Track

TG wrote a story at home, inspired by writing a story at school. The book he made is being sent to https://www.youngwriters.co.uk/

We are reading the Roald Dahl story of The Twits. In the story Mrs Twit is stretched. We thought it would be good to stretch Mrs Twit and measure the difference in our maths lesson. 26.1.18

First we made playdough. Then we made a model of Mrs Twit We measured Mrs Twit before and after stretching. Making and measuring spaghetti for Mr Twit. Making and measuring Mrs Twit Stretching Mrs Twit. How long is Mrs Twit? Recording our measurements.

Do you know your Roman Numerals?

We are learning these this week. 

In class we have been playing a great racing game to help us learn these numbers.

It was so popular, we decided to put it on the class page.

We are also learning how to tell the time.

  • Telling the time games 24 hour clock, analogue and digital clock, 5 minute intervals, telling the time in words, time word problems.

We designed pizzas and tasted new foods using our mathematical knowledge of fractions.

Best of all we prepared the vegetables, used kitchen equipment and baked some delicious pizza's!
