Christmas Dinner! YUM

Explorers all had a wonderful Christmas dinner today. We enjoyed pulling the crackers and reading jokes with our friends.

Christmas Decorations Afternoon

Explorers had so much fun creating lots of different decorations with all the parents this afternoon! They all worked very hard to explore different materials and used their imagination to decide what they wanted to create. 

Science Investigation

We completed a science investigation about liquids for science week in Explorers class. We put milk into a tray and added some drops of food colouring, then we dipped our cotton buds into some washing up liquid and used the cotton buds to touch the food colouring. We explored how the food colouring separated because of the washing up liquid. We discussed this as a class and some of the children commented that “washing up liquid makes dirt go away so it makes the colour go away”. Explorers were very fascinated that washing up liquid can make other liquids separate.

Weddings

Explorers loved learning about weddings from different cultures this week, so we decided to recreate a wedding of our own!

We hope you had a wonderful half term and had lots of fun during your Halloween holidays. We are very excited to see you back in school on Monday 1st November and are looking forward to all our new learning!

Harvest Festival 

Explorers really enjoyed celebrating Harvest Festival as a class. We had lots of fun apple bobbing outside and using apples to print with different coloured paints!

Explorers first week of school!

We had lots of fun playing with all our new friends and learning each others names. We really enjoyed singing lots of nursery rhymes and exploring all the equipment, both inside and outside the classroom.

I hope you are all excited to join our 'Explorers' class very soon!

My name is Miss Laverty and I will be your new class teacher. We are also so lucky to have two LSA's within our class to help with all our learning, Mrs Wallace and Mrs Cane! We cannot wait for you to start in September and begin our exciting learning journey together.

Things to remember when joining 'Explorers' class!

Please write your name on your water bottle and bring it to school everyday (only water). Please remember to label every item of clothing with your child's full name! 

P.E is every Thursday, please make sure your child arrives to school dressed in their P.E kit.

Please provide your child with a bag of spare clothes and wellington boots to leave in school as Explorers will access the outside area during various weather conditions. 

We are really looking forward to getting to know you all and growing together as a class.
