Welcome to Explorers Class Page!

 

In our class we have lots of friendly faces to welcome you into school. My name is Miss. Couchman and I am the class teacher. Explorers helpers are also Mrs.Windebank, Mrs.Clark and Mr. Staines.

 

Please visit this page for any class updates, such as pictures, information and help pages for home learning!

 

On Friday 29th June we will be hosting our school sports day! We hope you can all make it. Our class/KS1 session is in the morning, which will be followed by a whole school picnic.

 

Reminders:

  1. Please ensure that your child has their full North Crescent P.E kit in school.
  2. Please make sure that your child has a bottle of water available at school.
  3. Ensure that your child has sun cream applied and a sun hat/glasses if it is a hot day as we will be spending the morning outside.
  4. Make sure that your child has a top to match their group colour. (See class notice board for groupings).
  5. Please refrain from bringing sweet treats/fizzy drinks to the event. Sports day should promote healthy lifestyles, and also our school ethos of healthy schools.

Summer Holiday - Cliff Richard and The Shadows

We are learning 'Summer Holiday' for our end of year assembly. We would appreciate if you could practise this with your child at home :)

North Crescents got Talent!

Max came joint first place in the talent show,  singing 'You've got a friend in me' by Randy Newman! Max loves Toy Story and especially Buzz Lightyear which showed in his amazing performance!!

 

The girls came joint second place with a beautiful rendition of Ed Sheerans hit single 'Perfect'! The youngest formed girl group frown 

 

I AM SUPER PROUD!!

                     Book Week                                        

This week was book week and so we have had so many fun activities to do, linked to some of our favourite books. For example, we created book covers, made the three little pigs houses out of shoeboxes, shared our favourite stories and many more exciting things!

A Grand Day Out - Building a Rocket - A Grand Day Out

Wallace and Gromit build a rocket to get to the Moon in search of cheese. Children used this clip as a prompt to build their own rockets in class. We made small rockets and a large one for our role play area!

Jolly Phonics Phase Three

Jolly Phonics is a program designed to help children learn the name and sounds of letters. We use these songs in class, alongside the letters and sounds framework to help children to remember and recall their letters and sounds.

We are feeling autumnal!

Today we had grandparents tea. We sang the song 'You've got a friend in me' from the Disney classic 'Toy Story'. Our grandparents came in to watch and had a cup of tea and biscuits smiley. We chose this song as during this first half term we have made lots of new friends that we hope to keep through the years! We hope you enjoyed it.
