Home Learning

    Home Learning

Each Monday your child will be given an exciting activity to complete at home. This work should be brought back into school, in the folder, by the following Monday. These activities are aimed at your child’s ability – not too challenging but certainly not too easy. At North Crescent we have a high expectation of your child becoming an independent and resilient learner. We hope your child will take ownership of their home learning, and enjoy it, with the expectation that the activity is back each Monday.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.

Thank you for your support.

Mrs Barber

Task 1

Over the Christmas holidays please practise the children’s times tables and number bond recall. The children should be able to instantly respond with the number bond when a number is said

e.g. 5 + ? = 10            6 + ? =10    etc…

The children need to know these well and be able to relate them to other number bonds

e.g. 5+5=10      15+5= 20      25+5=30

     6+4=10      16+4=20       26+4=30    etc…

This skill will help them when they are carrying out addition and subtraction.

Task 2

Keep a daily weather chart noting the type of weather that day and the times that it is light and dark. (e.g. sunrise / sunset times)

Can children look at another country and compare sunrise and sunset times?

Please return weather chart to school on 6-1-20

Wishing you a Merry Christmas

and Best wishes for

a very Happy New Year
