This letter from Mr Harper outlines the changes to the way students will enter the Beauchamps from September, in-line with latest Government guidance.
Please note that:
Thursday 2nd September the new Year 7 students will be tested at school with Lateral Flow Tests - tested only
Friday 3rd September will be the first proper day of induction to school
Thursday 2nd September will be for Year 7 students only - and help towards the transition process.
Due to changes in the advice from the DFE with regards to transition days, I am writing to you to inform you that we have had to make some slight amendments to the times your students are on site. This is to ensure that these important days do still go ahead, whilst adhering to the new Government guidelines
Their Induction Day will now take place at The Lower Academy on Thursday 1st July and the day will start at 12:30 and finish at 14:40pm
Students will participate in a selection of activities which will support them in getting to know the Lower Academy, its environment, staff and facilities ready for September. The sessions will also provide an opportunity for them to become familiar with our expectations and values, as well as experiencing sample lessons from the Year 7 curriculum.
They have been asked to bring the following with them:
We are still actively trying to encourage signing up to our Summer School
All parents have been written to today with the letters going out first class in tonight’s post. We have a dedicated email address for all parental queries regarding transition which is: yr6transition@basildonacademies.org.uk if any of your parents have any queries.
Year 6 induction days are still going ahead on 2nd and 9th July.
There are a few changes to our normal plans like keeping students to the same classroom for the day rather than them moving around the school at the same time as our own students, social distancing, strict seating plans etc. They will be asked to bring in their own lunch and snacks. Parents will be emailed later this week with this information.
Bromfords School induction days and extra SEND visits - cancelled
Shoeburyness High School induction day - cancelled
Info transition to The Basildon Lower Academy in September to invite them in for their Transition Day with us.
Monday 12th July. This has been arranged in line with covid guidelines and students will remain within their school bubbles.
All students will be expected to arrive in their primary school uniform and have been asked to come with:
We will be providing a free lunch on this day but students are invited to bring a packed lunch if they like.
We are also running a Summer School w/c 16th August and w/c 23rd August which parents have already been invited to register their child for and we are overwhelmed by the fantastic response in just 24 hours.
Any questions or queries regarding the transition, email yr6transition@basildonacademies.org.uk

Beauchamps School informed me that you should be getting some information from them in the next week.
I have received transition project for English. We'll begin this at the end of June.
Message from Bromfords:
Students are invited to spend the days at The Bromfords School and Sixth Form College to meet our staff and take part in various activities. Students are expected to arrive by 8.30am at the schools Main Reception where they will be met by our staff and directed to the Main School Hall. It is very useful to use these days as a practice run to and from The Bromfords School and Sixth Form College in preparation for the student’s arrival in September.
Students should wear their normal Primary School uniform and bring their PE kit and PE footwear. The day ends at 2:50pm when students should be collected by parents from the schools Main Reception, if they are not making their own way home.
